In a heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). You will need enough oil to allow the churros to float while frying. Use a candy thermometer to monitor the oil temperature for the best results.

Step 4: Fry the Churros

Carefully place the churros into the hot oil, frying only a few at a time to avoid crowding the pot. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 5: Coat in Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow bowl, combine 1/2 cup of granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon (optional). While the churros are still warm, roll them in the sugar mixture until they are fully coated.
