Instructions

1. Prepare the Tofu

Begin by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap the tofu block in a clean kitchen towel and place a weight on top for about 15 minutes. Once pressed, cut the tofu into small cubes.

2. Prepare the Green Beans

Wash the green beans thoroughly and trim the ends. You can cut the beans in half if you prefer smaller pieces.

3. Cook the Tofu

Heat a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once the oil is hot, add the cubed tofu. Stir-fry the tofu for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown on all sides. Remove the tofu from the skillet and set it aside.

4. Stir-Fry the Green Beans

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the trimmed green beans. Stir-fry the green beans for about 5-6 minutes or until they are tender yet crisp.

5. Combine and Season

Return the cooked tofu to the skillet with the green beans. Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using). Stir to combine, allowing the flavors to meld together for an additional 2-3 minutes. Drizzle with sesame oil for a finishing touch. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

6. Serve

Once everything is cooked and well-combined, remove the skillet from heat. Transfer the stir-fried green beans and tofu to a serving dish. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for an added crunch and serve hot.
