Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Tofu

Begin by draining the firm tofu and pressing it between paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.

Step 2: Cook the Tofu

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the cubed tofu and sauté until golden brown on all sides, approximately 5-7 minutes. Once cooked, remove the tofu from the pan and set it aside.

Step 3: Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it. Next, add the sliced carrots and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, followed by the frozen peas. Cook the vegetables until they are tender but still crisp, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 4: Combine Tofu and Season

Return the cooked tofu to the skillet with the vegetables. Drizzle with soy sauce and sesame oil, then stir gently to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 5: Serve

Once everything is well-mixed and heated through, transfer your stir-fried peas and carrots with tofu to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
